| Please read the following important information in it's entirety. GENERAL INFORMATION The purpose of our clinics is to help people better understand the horse, have less stressful experiences handling and training horses, and obtain more positive, willing responses from horses while working together as a team. Clinic education includes methods and communication of natural horsemanship with round pen training techniques. One-day, two-day, weekend and week-long clinics may be offered. If you would like to host a clinic in your area, please contact us. Attendees will learn the "Language of Equus" and how to communicate with horses using their own language. Cultivating a horse's trust, respecting this trust, and the importance of bonding with a horse are demonstrated. Predominantly, clinic time is spent outdoors working with horses in and out of the round pen. Each person has the opportunity to work directly with student horses. Round pen sessions will include establishing the pecking order, introduction of tack, first time saddling/riding, teaching a horse to move in balance while driving from the rear instead of pulling from the front, and much more. Horses of several different ages, levels of abilities, and differing backgrounds will be among the student horses. For week-long clinics, a specific horse which is only halter broke will be used as the student round pen horse and the week's mission will be to earn this horse's trust, and take him through as much of each level of training as is appropriate for him. Other horses will be used to demonstrate and experience different levels of round pen training as well as handling young stock.. At all times the trainer's philosophy of "Always ask...never Force" will be paramount and any forceful behavior on the part of any person towards the student horses will not be tolerated. Patience is of the utmost importance and this clinic will demonstrate and teach you how to obtain a positive behavior and willing attitude from a horse.
