About

I first opened Distant Promises in June of 1999, under the name The Forgotten Galaxies. I must admit, that DP was at its best back then. I created it with the help of my friend, Ann, who played Midnight Fury, the dark king, and due to influence from two wonderful games I played in, Wild Soulz and Beyond the Pass. I ran it with the help of Ann and my friend, Amy, who played Night's Odyssey, the neutral king. I played Storm Chaser, the light king. Back then, role-playing was different. It was fun and easy and fanciful, and Galaxies was a huge success. People joined every day, there were all kinds of plots and twists and there was always someone to talk to.

I don't know what made me decide to change it to Distant Promises, but I did. It was still successful, carrying through two more generations of horses before things started to go downhill. I became extremely busy, and DP began to suffer. I think I was down to maybe 5 members when I decided to change it again, this time to Tattered. Tattered was a flop. Next to no one joined, and I wasn't having fun anymore. I closed DP in September of 2003. I thought I had given it a good run, and that it was done. But that wasn't to be.

My friend, Dizzy, had opened her own game, Disfunktional, and I let her use DP's story line. It was then that I really began to miss role-playing and DP, and decided I wanted to open it back up. Dizzy was behind me all the way. It took me many many weeks of work and figuring, and what I came up with is Distant Promises Resurrection. I know that it can be just as good as its precedesor if I try hard and stay active. I hope you enjoy it, and thanks to all those who influenced me.
