Should a Christian do Magic.
There are many arguements that can be made, with could say suguest that Christians are not to be involved in Magic. Like Deuteronomy 10:18 which basically says that we are not be involved with supernatural. When the bible talks of magic, it is not talking about magicians that are performers, but sorcery. The Bible is agianst sorcery, anything that is supernatural(Except through Jesus) which God is against.
Another arguement to suggest that Christians are not to be magicians is to be a successful magician, you have to decieve people. Yes that is true. Because the 9th commandment is "Thou shall not bear false witness agianst thy neighbor." Although that is talking about in a court of law, true, but it also can be applied "Thou shall not bear false witness to thy neighbor." Some will say that means a Christian should not lie, and since magic or Illusions require lying, then we are not to do magic.
But is being a magician really lying. Let's look at it in another way. Almost every church has put on a play or skits. Especially around Christmas, is when most churches will put on a Christmas pagent. Well the actors and actresses are really saying alot of stuff that is really not true, and claiming to do things that they did not do. Well then I guess performing a play or skit, or anykind of pagent is really lying. But many will say it is not because these people are really just acting. Well a Magician and or Illusionist is just an actor. Because the audience knows that he is not really doing what it looks like he is doing, so he is just acting. No different than an Actor.
