"The First All Class Reunion"
After many Thursday night "All Chats" we decided last year to get together with our friends, (both old & new), in Deer Park for the "First" All Class "ClassMates" reunion. We had quite a few months to plan it & well, all in all, I think all the attendees had a great time! We first started the reunion by having drinks & food at Bennigan's in NB (site of the old NB movies) - some of the fun was meeting people for the very first time! (Some even wondered what to say as they didn't have a keyboard in front of them! -Only kidding!) We had a good group there approximately 25 or so, and we had lots of fun & some awards...Most awards were comical having to do with what we had been chatting about, over the last year...Kris Cartwright had been our "creative" person, making some of the "awards"... Mary McTiernan's "Web TV Bonnet" to give her better reception, and giving Christa File, the "Welcome Wagon" award... Joy Messner was wonderful in supplying the rest of the "gag" gifts, and the biggest award is the one we presented Frank Castanza, his very own (material covered in Deer Park "Maroon & Gray") class of 73 year book, that he had been wanting since High School. (Special thanks to Joy for all the copying of the 73 yr book). Anyway, the evening continued, when we left Bennigan's and went over to Matty-T's, on Commack Ave. in Deer Park. Matty Taormino (class of 81) was our gracious host, by opening up his establishment for us, and we listened to the "Sounds of Gold" by Bill Murray and his band. All in all, we had between Bennigans & Matty-T's, approximately 35 to 40 people, and we were all happy to finally "meet" those new friends we had made here on "ClassMates".
