I have been accepted to Exeter University in England for the MA in Western Esotericism. This is a distance studies, part-time degree which will begin in the autumn of 2007. This degree will further specialize me in my area of research interest in addition to qualifying me to teach in the field of religious studies as well as history (which I intend to return to for my PhD).
I have deferred the degree to better prepare myself for the transition from the Historical discipline of my Honours BA to Religious Studies and Theology. Part of this includes studying languages through the 2006 academic year.
I expect neither the degree nor the preparation for it to interfere with my ability to work full-time hours, although it should be noted that I am expected to participate in two or three five-day seminars in the UK throughout the duration of the two-year degree program.
