Random skin thoughts: Removing old glue: Easy to do with an iron and several brown paper bags. Cut the bag into sections as long as possible and wide enough to make around 5 passes. Fold the bag or use multiple pieces so that the iron doesn't get any glue directly on it. Use a heat setting just high enough to melt the glue onto the bag. Continue until skin is dry. Reglue as per instructions on can. Kicker skins: I really love these as they make many snow conditions (where wax does not work well at all) a pleasure to ski. Sure you could use full-length skins, but unless you are going up something steep, these have less glide and are heavy when you are doing 5 km of approach before you really need them. New Kicker skin idea: Integrate the ski and skin so that there is a smooth leading edge. This would improve the glide in harder snow conditions, but would require a part strapped to the ski even when no skin is being used.
