CPUs

A processor is definitely the most important part of the inside of a computer. And it is also known
as the CPU, or Central Processing Unit, but the reason this element is like the heart of the PC is because it is the mainframe, or brain, since it makes all the decisions and all of the data processing
along with the calculations that allow the computer to operate in a flawless matter. It is always located on the motherboard inside the computer and is plugged into the processor socket. The processor consists of three main parts which are the control unit, the arithmetic and logic unit (ALU) and memory (registers, cache, RAM and ROM) as well as various temporary buffers and other logic.

But there is a specific way in which the processor works, that being that the control unit fetches instructions from memory and decodes them to produce signals which control the other part of the
computer. This may cause it to transfer data between memory and ALU or to activate peripherals to perform input or output.

There are many different types of processors that have been developed over the past few years. Some of the more popular older versions such as the AMD Thunderbird, Duron, and Athlon were very common during their time period. But now throughout the present the company corporation known as Intel has seemingly been conquering all other competition with there line-up of Pentium processors. There very first one came out with all of the other older versions, it was called the X86 Pentium. This processor was just practice for the growing company until they released there newer model called the Pentium I. From there they continued to branch with the Pentium II, Pentium III(i686), and now the present model the Pentium IV. AMD is the second-largest supplier of x86-compatible, and the largest supplier of non-volatile flash memory.
