These are the main characters and cast members in Buffy the vampire Slayer. Not all made it to the finall season, but they are all a valuable part of the "Buffy-Verse".
Buffy Ann Summers. The vampire slayer. She was chosen at the age of 15, and after her watcher died she moved to Sunnydale and met her new watcher Giles. With the aid of her friends she fights vampires and demons on a daily basis, all while trying to lead a normal life.

Rupert Giles. Buffy's watcher. He was destined to be a watcher since he was a young boy. He used to be the librarian in Buff'y high-school, until it blew-up in season three. After that he bought a magic shop, and ran it until it too blew-up, in season six...

Willow Rosenberg. Buffy's best friend. Willow is the "brainy" type; she helps Buffy find information about demons and such. She is also a very powerful witch, which is also very helpful when fighting evil.

Xander Harris. Also Buffy's best friend. He a "regular Joe" kind of a guy, always ready to help. Although he has no special power, Xander never hesitates to help Buffy out and do whatever it takes.

Cordelia Chase. A cheerleader. She also got sucked into the slayer's world, and as much as she tries she can't help but, well, help. She dated Xander for a while, until he cheated on her, which had a pretty disastorous results... She makes sure everybody knows how much she hates the slaying life, but when needed, she never fails. Almost.

Anya. AKA "Anyanka" or "Aud". A former vengeance demon, who came to Sunnydale to fulfill Cordelia's vindictive wish. Giles managed to turn her to a human, and she stayed in Sunnydale since. As time went by, she started dating Xander, thus becoming part of the "scoobies". Anya and Xander were supposed to get married in season 6, but he left her at the altar, causing her to become a vengeance demon again. In season 7 she realized she cannot deal with being a vengeance demon, and she asked her superior to make her human again, once and for all.

Angel. AKA Angelus. A vampire with a soul. His soul is the result of a gypsy curse. Angel used to be a ruthless vampire, but when he got his soul, he reformed and started helping people. He joined Buffy and fought with her. The two became lovers, but their affair ended in season three, when angel left because he felt Buffy and he have no real future together. The still love each-other, though.

Dawn Summers. Buffy's little sister. Well, not exactly: Dawn used to be a key to another world, a source of energy guarded by monks. To protect her, these monks made her human and sent her to Buffy as her sister, altering everybody's memories so they'll think she was always there. In season five, Dawn almost died when a banished goddess tried to use her to open a portal to her world. Dawn was saved, and is no longer a key.

Spike. AKA "William the Bloody". A vicious vampire, who killed two slayers and came to Sunnydale to kill his third... In season four, he was captured by a secrete military force that put a chip in his head to prevent him from hearting people. Since he could still hurt demons, and hurting is like a hobby for spike, he joined Buffy and the gang. Between fights, Spike fell inlove with Buffy, but it wasn't until the sixth season that they "got together". After a while, buffy realized she cannot be with a soulless creature and she left Spike. Hurt and upset, Spike went through hell (figuratively speaking), and got himself a soul. By the seventh season, Spike and buffy starts hitting-up again...

Faith. Also a slayer. In the first season, buffy died. She was only dead for, like, a minute, but it was enough for a new slayer to be called. That slayer was Kendra, who was killed, permanently, in the second season, thus allowing the arrival of Faith. Faith had some trouble adjusting to this role, and for along while she was actually fighting for the wrong side, but eventually she pulled herself together and by the seventh season she was back fighting along with Buffy.

Tara Maclay. A member of the same college Wicca group Willow went to. Willow and Tara became good friends after realizing they were the only ones in the group who actually knew magic. After a while Tara and Willow fell inlove with each-other, an affair that had a tragic end in season six, when Tara was murdered.

Oz. AKA Daniel Osbourne. A werewolf. Dated Willow for a while, which automatically earned him a place in the war against evil.... And his werewolf senses which were very helpful as well. Oz left Willow in season four; He wanted to find a way for him to cnotrol his inner wolf.
