The Seaworld railway was opened in 1974, and was the first 'ride' at Seaworld.

Its original layout was a 'U' with two loops at the end to turn the train around.

With the construction of the Corkscrew in 1982, a bridge was constructed over part of the Ski Lake.  The Seaworld railway now crosses that bridge, and is now a closed circuit train.

It has two stations, one near the Sea-Lion theatre, and one at the water park.  The ride takes about 20 mins (including loading) and each train has a capacity of about 100.

The ride closes while the 'Quest for the Golden Seal' show is in progress.  This is because the noise of the train is quite distracting for the animals in the show, as the design of the train includes a tunnel through the stadium, and the train can create allot of noise going through that tunnel.

The system usually operates with one train, however Seaworld operates 2 trains in busy times to cope with the big crowds.
