Cartoon Network Cartoon Beach is Seaworld's newest (and only) themed area. Its for the kids, and features 6 attractions, including the Air Born Barrel Brigade, Woody's Beach Trucks, Air See Rescue, Dexter's Time Machine, Toon Point Lighthouse and the Coca-Cola Carousel.
Construction began in mid '99 It was opened in late 1999. The entire area was built onto part of the Ski Lake. In 1997, Seaworld banned all the Ski Boats from using the area of the Ski Lake, which they intended to use for the new attraction, to make sure that the skiers would still have enough room to turn the boats around with skiers in tow. The whole area was dredged to make the land available.
The surrounding area has also been themed around cartoon network, with existing shops now selling official cartoon network merchandise. |
