Those of you that know me, know I love to decorate cakes.  I've gotten better, but I thought I'd show off my first real project apart from specialty pans, which I've done for years.  This is probably one of my favorites because it was my first one.  It has a lot of flaws, but it will always be beautiful to me.  :)  This was also my first attempt at icing roses.  What a learning experience that was!  But it was well worth it.  I've been able to do many more flowers now thanks to all I learned while making these.  :)

I made it with some of the kids I work with for their mother.  She had just gotten out of the hospital and the little girl wanted her to have a cake to come home to.  I just LOVE the thoughtfulness of children.
