| Monica Reyes takes lead of the investigation for the four episode of Season Nine. "Hellbound" is written by David Amann and directed by Kim Manners. Number three is "Daemonicus" written and directed by Frank Spotnitz. The title is the Latin word for"Satan". Because of cintinuing news coverage on the tragic events, the premiere date is still tentative. Season Nine opens with a two-parter, both jointly written by Chris Carter & Frank Spotniz. The first show, entitled "Nothing Important Happened Today", is directed by Kim Manners and will air in November. It also feature the debut of the characters played by Cary Elwes and Lucy Lawless. It's conclusion, "Nothing Happened Today II", is directed by Tony Wharmby. |
| Lucy Lawless, know internationally for her character Xena, has signed on for a guest role in The X Files, appearing in the first two episodes of the show's ninth season, with additional episodes to be determined. Commenting on the casting of Lawless , Frank Spotnitz said,"We are thrilled to have an oportunity to work with Lucy, whose work we have to admired for a long time. We think we have found intersting and unexpected way to have her join The X Files family." |
| NEW "X-FILES MOVIE FOR 2003? The truth will be out there in theatres once again. Variety reports that 20th Century Fox is intalks with "X-Files" creator Chris Carter to produce a second theatrical feature based on the hit occult series. Frank Spotniz, who co-wrote the 19988 "X-Files" movie, is also in talks with tthe studio, the report said. No director has drawn the assignment for the second "X-Files" movie so far, although Rob Bowman was at the helm last time. The big news is that tthe project is being developed as a vehicle for original series co-stars David Duchovny and gillian Anderson, the report said. Duchovny left the series several years ago and Anderson has stated she indents to split at tthe end of the upcoming ninth season. Both actors have said they would be willing to participate in the movie project, Variety said. Carter and Spotniz will begin working on the script within the next few months. If a director comeson board and the project gets the go-ahead from the studio, the movie could be in production by late 2002 for a Christmas 2003 release, the report said. Variety said the original film grossed $84 million at the box office and did well on home video. Itt has heen estimadet that since its 1993 debut, "X-Files" has earned nearly $1 billion for Fox's parent company. |
