Volunteers Take to the Phones! Boeing volunteers from around Southern California took part in the annual KOCE-TV Pledge Drives on Wednesday, August 14 ,2002 and Thursday, August 22, 2002. In all, 43 volunteers contributed 235 hours to this worthwhile cause that raises funds and takes memberships for this public television station in Huntington Beach. Team Boeing volunteers raised $28,930 during the two events, which included a $10,000 challenge grant provided by The Boeing Company. These fundraising events were repeated on consecutive Mondays, August 11 and 18, 2003. Team Boeing volunteers raised a combined total of over $30,000, which included a $10,000 matching challenge grant provided by The Boeing Company. The future of KOCE-TV as a Public Broadcasting Station is uncertain at this time due to the pending sale of the station to potential buyers including several religious organizations and a coalition of other PBS stations in southern California. |

Debbie was one of 23 Boeing employees from across sites in Southern California who manned the phones and took membership pledges on Saturday, March 9, 2002.
