As we readied our canoes, frenzied photographers gallopped up and down the beaches with tripods and cameras with lenses the size of the West  Edmonton Mall!  Our 3 hour cruise of the lake gave us two wonderful turtle encounters and a host of magical moments.  In a summer where viewing the night sky impacted many a wish on a falling star...what could compare to a wish on fish as it breaks the water of an azure lake, under an azure sky...ahhhh!  Throughout our trip we contemplated our goals for the coming year plus a wish that we would like to bestow on someone else.  At the end of our trip we each recorded these on poplar leaves and set them off down the Little East River.
