| Shades of Life My life, like shades of black and white, Captured by the cameras sight, Reveals the stark and subtle shades Of moments lived, of memories made. Faded now though treasured still, The photos in the album fill. Of stature small, a stranger be, A vision of a younger me. Grown and somewhat taller now The shutter still keeps up, somehow. With blinding speed, activity So much to do, much more to see. Full of stature, two are wed. One spirit now, the vows were said By each to other, forever stay. The picture of a treasured day. This photo captures three, now four Taking steps across the floor. First bite of peas and bike ride see, Though all to soon, apart from thee. The lighting dims, yet quicker still. Help from a younger hand, this hill, A panoramic shot of all, Our shades of life adorn the wall. Douglas Fletcher 3/09/2001 |
