Time

Time, why do you run from me?
For, I have much to do
And youre always so far ahead.
I feel that I have lost
Before beginning to run.
If I did nothing, would you rest too?
If I tried harder, could I catch up with you?
Why should you control me so?
Am I your slave such that
You own my waking and slumber,
My coming and going,
My every task and thought?
In difficulty, you have proved to be my friend,
However remain my strongest adversary.
I look forward to when I am free of you;
When you control me no more,
In a place even you cannot go;
Eternity.
