This Road

This road, which takes me from my home,
Will stretch me far beyond my will,
With an ever pounding tire thrum.
Further still, further still.

This road, this ever-reaching sea
I sail, pushed by the winds of prosperity.
Chasing the elusive long-lived dream
Lose what I am to what Ill be.

This road, this path that carries me
Surely over, around and through
The rivers, towns and countryside,
Then returns me quickly home, to you.
