The Mighty Red Truck

The mighty red truck sat in wait all alone
Till the urgent call came across on the phone
A buildings on fire so they must do their best
The training they know will be put to the test
They jump on the truck just like knights to a steed
The rumbling diesel must take them with speed
On come the lights to be easy to view
Then next comes the roar of the federal Que
They get to the fire with little delay
The flames getting higher to the crowds dismay
They jump off the truck and they pull off some hose
It's gonna be nasty that everyone knows
They crank up the water for the hoses to spray
The force is so great that the fireman sway
But they stand their ground as one yells to the fire
You maybe hungry but we have desire
Then comes a voice that is known all to well
Not sure what it said and just short of a yell
But the flames are too high so they just have to wait
And hope that the fire will not be their fate
Then comes a scream but it's more of a bother
This time it said should I go get your father?
The little boy looks with his truck in his hand
And throws it to the ground as he starts to stand
The Mighty Red Truck will just have to wait
Cause supper is ready and he's already late!
