Tender Embrace

What is it you long for
as the hours pass you by
A VP friend to share with
and to laugh with in delight

Or maybe it's a child
with such teeny tiny hands
as she reaches out for you
when she's learning how to stand

Or maybe it's a first date
with a boy that's in your school
The one you simply long for
like some crazy loving fool

Or maybe it's the kiss of love
made on a special day
the one that you must wait for
until the preacher says ok

Or maybe it's the way you feel
on yet another interview
when now again they tell you
that the jobs not right for you

Or maybe it's in waiting
when the doctor say's ok
and you need to squeeze a helping hand
from the baby on the way

Or maybe it's to say goodbye
from the friends you grew to know
and now that graduations here
your separate way's you all will go

Or maybe before dinner
as the table's being set
to thank the one who cooked the meal
and for all the time they spent

Or maybe it's to help a friend
whose sadness starts to rise
as their loved one is laid to rest
before their tear stained eyes

Now if you paid attention
To all the people up above
Each and every one did long
The most simple act of love
If you see someone who needs one
Then there is no time to waste
Because it only takes a second
To give a warm Tender Embrace!
