The Jewel

I saw a sacred jewel
sitting softly on a ledge
It had the purest beauty
and that I freely pledge

It was shining like a diamond
but it wasn't near as hard
soft and round and so profound
it had never been marred

Softly sitting, quietly waiting
for my hand to touch
For I know that such a jewel
would have to cost so much

Should I even take it
Or should I let it be
for I will hold it's memory
for all eternity

Yes something with such beauty
should just remain in place
but then the jewel of love falls off
and your tear rolls down your face
