"The Love Question"
I’ve been sitting here thinking
Sit down for a minute and listen to me
I know all the time you got to question me
About what it is exactly that you mean to me
I’m gonna straight tell you specifically
In so many words if you can follow me
We can go back to where I first saw you then
Sitting there talking with family and friends
You could’ve had a guy but I was taken
No use acting cool or faking
It don’t really matter cause it’s like I said
When you smiled at me it went straight to my head
All my dreams were about you instead
I couldn’t understand what just happened
But I know it’s never happened to me since then
The way it took affect it had my head spinning
Like that song ” I’m Back In Love again”
In my mind I knew just what to do
I had a goal now to get serious with you
The next time I see her it’s going to go like this
Respect , timing , patience
I know I just can’t miss
If I can make her smile I can get on her list
I know she got others maybe 4 or 5
Still I’ll lay down the real so she can see through the lies
I won’t tell her nothing that isn’t true
She will see the light by the time I‘m through
She will wonder where have I been all her life
She’ll spend hours with me on her phone line
I know her family don’t think I’m right
My clothes don’t fit and my name game is tight
Still I’m like a prince who’s royalty though
Righteously I’ll treat her and then they’ll know
My respect for her runs limitlessly
The love I grew inside flows endlessly
I’m waiting for her so patiently
She knows I’m the one and I’m all she needs
She’ll see she can depend on me
The way we communicate telepathically
Her native beauty I’m feeling so graphically
Like a masterpiece painting rendered classically
In her myriad features I see passionately
Her love and grace flowing so effortlessly
Within her my seeds could spring from eternity
Her arms around me I’m in heaven see
Enfolded and shielded from a world o you’de be
Rhyming and raving if you were me
Not enough time in a day you know
To tell you all this scenario
How she finally got with me and told me so
Soft and carefully that she didn’t know
Had her in my sights like a hit man getting paid to go
Track the next victim of Don Corleone
I did it for the love not family control
Now she’s in my world
No longer half I’m whole
I guess that’s the way the story goes
If I had a chance would I do it again?
In a New York minute
I’de hop the fence lose innocence let the games Begin, skip the rent, give it
up for lent
If she’s heaven sent , you’de get bent
It’s evident, no regrets or resentments
When love calls your name you need to represent
