The real beginning of the church dates back to over 140 years ago. We would like to think of our church as a tree growing by the side of the road. This tree offered shelter and shade to the weary travelers -all were welcome to come and rest beneath its branches. The beasts of the field and the birds of the air found it a haven in the time of storm and a refuge from the cold winter blast. The tree never moved from the place where it first sent its tiny roots deep into the soil. It become a sanctuary and shelter to all who stopped, and many in passing called it blessed. Like a tree, our church has stood and put down roots firm and deep in the community. Many have traveled through on their journey through life. We have many memories of friends and joys of serving the Lord. Also memories of pastors who have contributed generously to our church life. Members of steadfast support and faithful attendance have been an inspiration for all of us.
