"Dawg-Gone Afternoon"
A Personal Account by Douglas De Dawg

On this particular Sunday, I arrived late at the park but immediately found my friend, Le Coy Vixen Reba (center), and met a new friend, Quierie (left). Dawg greetings were shared by all.
We played and played in the water until I realized the sun was going down and I hadn't seen any of my other friends. I decided I better find them right away.
Quierie and Reba continued to play in the ocean while I went off to begin my search.
Ah hah! Paw prints! They must be right up here!! We had so much fun the last time I was here. I remember it well........
NOTE: Dawg flash backs are intricately cerebral dawg images. Therefore they normally appear, as dawgs see them, in black and white. I am adding duplicate images in vivid color for the benefit of my biped friends.
Another Note: The following flash back photos were graciously contributed by Reba's biped, Susie. Thank you for coming through again for all of us, Susie!!

Lady threw the frisbee over and over again because Rob really liked to chase it and bring it back to her so she could toss it some more for him...

....until Rob passed out from exhaustion and required emergency measures. Lady reached into her vast store of dawg knowledge and immediately made the decision to administer tongue-to-nose resuscitation. Rob was up and about in no time at all....

...a newcomer showed up...I don't know if the newcomer was a squatter or a leg lifter...we played "Hah Hah! I Made You Blink First!!" This was a prolonged staring contest. It lasted all of 420 seconds. (That's 60 seconds in biped time)...

...we chased birds all afternoon...that was a lot of fun...never caught one...but it was still a lot of fun. As I watched the sun set, I noticed a solitary bird snarling and glaring menacingly at me from a piling out in the water. I think he was miffed that we chased him so much. He'll get over it. Yes, it was definitely a fun day...one to be fondly remembered....
I finally realized that I was gonna need some help if I wanted to find my other dawg friends before the sun went down. I went to get Reba and Quierie and asked them to help.

We quickly set up a Secret Paw Pals Signal Code. If one of us found the other dawgs, we would nonchalantly raise our left paw to alert everyone else. This Secret Paw Pals Signal Code is being demonstrated by Dixie (left) and Quierie (right) in the above photos. We were going to try to set up various secret ethnic paw shakes, but we realized we didn't have apposable dew claws! Just as we were setting off to begin our search, a new friend appeared...
Hi! I'm Sam. You guys need some help?
We rushed over to welcome Sam. Quierie (far left) whispered to Reba (far right), "Psst! Reba! Watch out!! I've just discovered he hasn't been neutered!!!" Reba whispered back, "Yeah, I know, but get a load of those gorgeous tight furry buns!!!!"
We searched and searched as the sun got lower and lower in the sky. I was absolutely bewildered!!
Where in the world could those other dawgs be??
I have looked absolutely everywhere! There's just no sign of them!! It's like they aren't even on the beach!!!
*sigh* We all gave up. Reba and Quierie went back to play in the ocean for a while. Then it was dark and time to go home. I had a great time, but I never did find out where all of the other dawgs were!!
