Doug's Website

If you're looking for a site with deep insights on life, fun facts about it's author, or any interesting content at all, you're probably in the wrong place. You won't find any of that kind of holier-than-thou junk here. It's just not the way we operate (and don't ask who "we" are).

If you're looking or Doug's website, however, you're in the right place.

God and Girlfriends (8/28/05)

I lived just to see you smile
And I'd have died to make your life complete
No matter what I did or said
I could never show you what you meant to me
You were my angel and my muse
A gift from Heaven Above
A testament that God was watching over me
A true token of His amazing and unfailing love
Now as I sit isolated in my basement
Once again writing about what-might-have-beens
With a sad old song coming from the speakers
I can't tell you how it hurts to go back again
To the place where I once spent every day
Feeling rejected by the Master and His creation
Alone in pain and distress that burns as acid on the soul
Fighting tears and once again doubting salvation
There are few certainties in the life He gave us
But there is one thing I know to be true
Despite the progress that I made
When I lost your love, I lost His too.
