ABSTRACT

This work is motivated by the desire to ease the process of writing distributed programs. We have implemented a mechanism whereby we can make an existing Smalltalk environment support distributed programming. We also present our experience of using this mechanism to implement both a program designed to be distributed from the outset and a single user application that has been modified to run on our distributed Smalltalk system.
