The Blue Mountains, part of the Great Dividing Range, are located just 65km inland from Sydney.

The blue haze surronding the the mountains is a result of the fine mist of oil given off by eucalypts trees.
The three sisters are probably the most viewed landmark in the Blue Mountains, as you can see it from the car park.
Much like the crowd disappears once you dip below the visitors center at the Grand Canyon (Arizona, USA), you are hard pressed to find another hiker in the Grand Canyon (New South Wales, Australia).
