| Iguana's absorb there heat from outside sources. They need there enclosure to be kept at an 85 degrees and basking spots that warm up to 90 to 95 degrees. There are several heat sources that as I have time I will give you more indepth information on each type of heating. The Heating can be provided by Radiant Heat panels, CHE (Ceramic Heating Emitters), some use under ground heaters, others use heating pads. HOT ROCKS are one of the very bad sources of heat. Hot Rocks are a VERY DANGEROUS PRODUCT. Not only is there wiring a fire hazard, or shock hazard if the iguana chews them. They cause BURNS Some Burns received are sever enough to ultimately KILL your iguana. Iggy's don't have the nerve senses like we do and that being said by the time they "realize" they are to hot they have all ready sustained severe damage. I will later be showing you pics of sever burns and scaring from the use of HOT ROCKS. I caution and warn you if you have a HOT ROCK cut the cord use it as just a plain rock or throw it away immediately. I can attest to the scaring HOT ROCKS CAUSE, Double D has many scares on her belly from these burns that I have to help her to shed or the skin just builds up do to the damage she has received from them.
