Little Sable is 4 years old.  I rescued her from the local shelter.
She weighs about 21 lbs.   When I got her, she had heartworms
from staying outdoors all her little young life.  She also had not
been spayed.   When I first saw her, she looked so depressed
and just stared at the ground.  She acted as tho she didn't care
if anyone was  around her or not.  She had nothing to live for
and was scared of everything.  I figured out later that she must
have been left outside all her life to just have puppies for her
previous owners and when she didn't produce and make enough
money for them, they dumped her at the shelter.   I brought her
home and gave her a bath and discovered she was actually
snow white instead of
dirty brown.
She had bare spots on her back and stomach where her hair
had fallen out.  I also discovered she was full of life when
someone loved her and treated her like "my kid" ... which she
is now.  She sleeps in the bed with us every night and eats only
healthy foods.  I don't think I've ever seen such a change in a
little canine as I have seen in her.  Her hair is very thick and
snow white and she is a very loveable little angel now.
She's still scared of almost anything you pick up, like a camera
or flashlight.  And she has so much energy and "play" in her,
she's like a different baby now.
