Documented because we get so little snow it's pitiful. And, to annoy Orenda. Because I'm just evil that way. Pictures may, or may not, be included with each documented occurance of snow. There will only be pictures when I feel like and I have the time to take them.
First Snow -- 12/5/02 (Thursday)
It finally happened! We got snow! Amazing, isn't it? After many years of little or no snowfall, we strike oil. There's six inches out there now, at least, but the pictures were taken before that. Got us out of school today, so I'm happy. Of course, I had to shovel for the first time in my life. (For three bloody hours! YEESH!) Bah. Aren't parents slave-drivers? At any rate, here are a few pictures, taken using a digital camera with a wide-angle lens:
Picture 1 -- View from the Front Porch
Picture 2 -- Another View from the Front Porch
Picture 3 -- Third View from the Front Porch
Picture 4 -- View from the Back Porch
Picture 5 -- Another View from the Back Porch--We got out of school for 12/6/02 (Friday) as well. Man, I love snow.
Second Snow -- 12/10/02-12/11/02 (Tuesday-Wednesday)
Yep, we got snow again... Actually, to be correct, it wasn't snow. It was ICE. =P Ice is better than snow because no one can drive on it and, therefore, we didn't have a remote chance of having school. It got us out of school for Wednesday and a two-hour delay on Thursday. Only problem is, I didn't want a two-hour delay on Thursday! It was the Annual Leadership and Ethnics Day for the Seniors.. Luckily, we still had it, good food and all. (Sorry, had to add in a comment about the food--my dad was having surgery and couldn't eat anything besides clear liquids the day before, and couldn't eat anything on Thursday. However, we only did two of the three scenarios with our groups. Man, and I wanted to sentence that once guy's ass to jail.. Bloody git saw his best friend rape and murder a seven-year-old girl and did nothing! Well, he saw the raping part at least, but still...! And the worst part was, it was based on a real story! *Sighs, mutters* Oh yeah, he won his case, too. Don't you just hate people like that?
Uhm... Getting back on topic, I really should have taken pictures of the ice. It was so cool! I mean, it was literally coating the tree branches and stuff, encasing them in ice. It was the sweetest thing I ever saw. Too bad I was too lazy to get the camera... *Lol.*
This description was delayed until 12/24/02, because I kept on forgetting about it and because I decided to update with the new chapter of Casualty.
Third Snow -- 12/24/02-12/25/02 (Tuesday-Wednesday)
(12/24/02) Well, I'll be damned. We're on a roll, it seems. It started snowing a little around 1-2pm and went to huge flurries, then to tiny icy flakes. I don't know what it's doing now, but it's sticking! We're going to have a White Christmas after all! How festive.. Since this is going to be a lot like the first snow we had, only less of it, I won't take any pictures... Unless the freezing rain and sleet we're supposed to have tomorrow looks really cool. Then I might take a few pictures. We'll have to wait and see, though. =D Merry Christmas!
Of course, on a minor note, we don't get school, so we don't get time off. Bah. Ah well, it's still pretty.
