Are You In Pain??

The world...Ah, such a big place! So many people, so much suffering. I see this in all people...no matter who, no matter where...I see people's pain. All people must deal with stress, difficulties and mental anguish at some point in their lives. Trauma to the body can be physical (car accident, a work related injury) or mental (loss of a loved one, viewing a traumatic event). No matter what the cause, the effect is similar. The quality of life goes down and all aspects of life are compromised.

For instance, our mind will hold the memory of an injury or harsh incident in your past and actually cause the problem to resurface. This can happen if you go through similar stresses. Have you ever had a friend slap you on the back where you had been injured years ago and up comes that old familiar knot or muscle spasm? Have you ever experienced a stressful time which caused your muscles tension and, upon experiencing a similar stress, get the very same muscle tension...in the very same place??

I am no stranger to this. Back in my high school days, I found my life full of stresses and difficulties. My sciatic nerve became trapped by a spastic muscle and caused me intense pain....it was all due to stress! When I went to college, I began dealing with the same kind of stress and the problem came back...worse than ever before! There were times I couldn't walk or even move! The pain went from the base of my head to the bottom of my foot! Fortunately, I was in the massage program and had a lot of help. Massage is so much more than just a relaxation tool. With its many proven therapeutic modalities, it serves as a strong therapeutic base to the medical world.

Pain is inevitable in our lives, but we need not live with it nor tolerate it! We all deserve better and we all can have better!
