| *After careful consideration and many sleepless nights, here's what I've decided: there's no such thing as a grown-up. We move on, we move out, we move away from our families and form our own. But the basic insecurities, the basic fears and all those old wounds just grow up with us....We get bigger, we get taller, we get older. But, for the most part, we're still a bunch of kids, running around the playground, trying desperately to fit in* ~Grey's *Time comes to us softly, slowly. It sits beside us for a while. Then, long before we are ready, it moves on* ~Unknown *And when the future hinges on the next words that are said, don't let logic interfere, believe your heart instead* ~Philip Robinson *As doctors, as friends, as human beings, we all try to do the best we can. But the world is full of unexpected twists and turns. And just when you've gotten the lay of the land, the ground underneath you shifts. And knocks you off your feet. If you're lucky, you'll end up with nothing more than a flesh wound, something a bandaid will cover. But, some wounds are deeper than they first appear, and require more than just a quick fix. With some wounds, you have to rip of the bandaid, let them breathe and give them time to heal...*~ Grey's *Memories are what we hold on to when everything seems to be changing* *I've heard that its possible to grow up, I've just never met anyone who has actually done it. Without parents to defy, we break the rules we make for ourselves. We throw tantrums when things don't go our way. We whisper secrets with our best friend, in the dark. We look for comfort where we can find it. And we hope against all logic, against all experience, like children- we never give up hope* ~Grey's *We can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by* *It's not like, you know, you're gonna go back to being the person you were before they died -- the person's gone. It's more like something inside of you breaks and your body finds a way to compensate for it. Like if you busted your right hand, you figure out how to use the left one. And sure, you might resist for awhile because you're pissed off that you have to learn all this stuff again that nobody else does. Eventually your body takes over and figures it out for you. And you're glad. Because if it was up to you... you'd look at your broken hand forever and try to figure out what it was like before* ~Everwood *I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities* ~Dr. Seuss |
