RAA Gallery to feature art by Dorothy Antoun

Apple Valley artist Dorothy Antouns exhibit of art based on dance runs through Sept. 11

REDLANDS Dorothy Antoun will be the featured artist at the Redlands Art Association Gallery through Sept. 11. Antouns works are noted for their basis in dance.

A lifelong love for dance has shaped Antouns art. Born in New York, she studied with Victor de Pauw at the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton. She has a bachelors degree in fine arts from Syracuse University and was a Max Beckman Scholar at the Brooklyn Museum, where she studied with Reuben Tam.

Antoun has exhibited works in New York City, as well as the Lowe Art Center in Syracuse. Her paintings have been shown in the Brooklyn Museum, the Guild Hall in East Hampton and the San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands. Her works are in the permenant collection at Syracuse University and she has won first place in the Newport, R.I., Arts Festival.

Currently, Antoun lives in Apple Valley, where she shows works at the Victor Valley Museum and High Desert Center for the Arts in Victorville.
