The Thom Pets
We love our pets - from our 14 year old dogs Cody and Ms. Jenkins, to our blind cat Barbie and our recent addition Tank.  Tank is a stray that we found at the school one morning.  We did the ad, the visit to the vet to see if they recognized him to no avail.  He is now ours in all of his 1 year old exurberance!
Here is our Cody - he is about a month younger than Jenny.  He is a Border Collie and is always looking for work to do.  Even at his geriatric age, he does not appreciate a dog wanting to play.  All work and no play makes a dog a border collie!  I adore this dog!  He is 14 just like Jenny.
Ms. Jenkins - we got her when she was about 4 weeks old at the pound.  She looked old already.  Probably due to her life experience so we named her Ms. Jenkins.  But she proudly goes by Jenny!  She is basically pretty lazy but she is a good girl!
Here is Barbie our beautiful cat.  Another pound find.  We had her for a week before we discovered she was blind.  We did know she was clumsy but we attributed that to kitten clumsiness.  Finally we hung up a toy and she never noticed it until we bounced it on the floor.  She pounced on it after that.  We started watching and it was obvious after that that she could not see.  I took her back to the vet and he confirmed the blindness.  He had checked her out once but she adapted so well that he missed her blindness.  Now I know that not all white blue eyed cats are blind but all blind cats (genetic) are white with blue eyes.  I praise the Lord every day for leading us to this cat.  She is special and I would hate to think that someone might have put her to sleep because of her blindness.  Most people never know that she is blind.  She even roams out doors at times and runs at top speeds - she is a wild cat and doesn't hesitate to tell us what she wants!
Last but not least (since I decided not to include photos of the fish!) is our new pup Tank.  Also known as Mutley  He is a stray that we found up at the school on Good Friday just before school.  He was happy as a clam with all the attention from the kids but he  needed a place to go.  I asked the vice principal where he would end up going and she didn't know at the time.  I offered to  keep him in my yard and try to find the owner and she eagerly agreed.  I've been trying for a month.  I put an add in the paper, took him to the local vets who did not recognize him  so now I've gotten him his shots and will soon have him neutered.  He is now a member of the family and is already much loved.  Good Boy Tank!!!  Don't pick on our old man Cody!
