Episode Three
At Setsu's office, Nao listened intently while Setsu explained to him. When the scapel was first found at the crematorium, it could already classified as a commercial crime and that Estushi could be held entirely responsible for the whole incident. It could be the negligence of Estushi who accidentally left the scapel in Teruko, that caused her death. At the present moment, they do not have any evidence to prove that Estushi forgot to take the scapel out after the operation. Plus the fact that they do not even know the circumstances that Teruko died in. Thus, if the case was to be ruled out by the court, it will just end like that, giving them no clues as to what had actually happened to Teruko.
Nao finally spoke up, telling Setsu that someone else knows the truth beside Estushi, and that person was Teruko. Nao told Setsu that before they bid farewell to Teruko for the last time, his family and him had put many things in the coffin. The people at the crematorium had instructed them, not to put in things that were unperishable. Hence, they had taken great care in chosing the things. Yuko placed one of Teruko's favourite suit in it, while Yuna placed her pink skirt which Teruko had personally sewed for her during her presentation ceremony. As for Nao, he had gone and bought Teruko's sponge cake. At that time, Nao believed that Teruko would be very happy to have these things, until the scapel was founded among her remains. Nao felt that it was a sign given by Teruko.
Pausing for a while, Nao asked Setsu if she was willing to help him if any other evidences beside the scapel was found. Nao believes that if they try harder in their investigation, they can definitely find out the truth since that Teruko will be guiding them along the way. Touched by what Nao had said, she agreed and she also instructed him that in their process of finding more evidences, they should not alert Shoei Sogo hospital in any way. Nao smiled and told Setsu that he will definitely be able to find more evidences.
At the Masaki's residence, Yuko asked Nao what he doing when she was him making some pamphlets. Nao told her that Setsu had already agreed to help them. Yuko asked Nao if he was planning to distribute the pamphlets and that it was very foolish of Nao to think of that. But Nao told her that it was the only thing they can do now, since the staffs at Shoei Sogo hospital will not paying them any attention. Beside, it was Setsu that reminded him that Teruko's death might be caused by Estushi. Throughtout the entire conversation, Shiro was at the entrance listening.
Nao also told Yuko that he will continue making photocopies of the pamphlets and distribute them, even if she and Shiro disapprove of it. It is because he wants to find out the reasons as to why Teruko fainted on the street, and he hopes that they will let him do it. Just then Yuna came up to Nao and placed some coins onto to the table. Yuna told Nao that she wanted to contribute the photocopying expenses and to include in her share. Nao was so surprised that he did not know what to say, while Shiro and Yuko were equally stunned to see Yuna to do that.
On the streets, Nao and Yuna were busy distributing the pamphlets to passerby, asking them if they had saw what had happened to Teruko on 13th April. But they were not having much luck because most of the passerby were ignoring them.
Back at the Masaki's residence, Shiro was pondering over what Nao had said and told Yuko that Teruko will not rest in peace if what Nao had said was the truth, that Estushi caused the death of Teruko on his negligence. After which, Shiro started staring at the family photos which Nao taken taken out earlier for the pamphlets.
Nao and Yuna were still distributing the pamphlets when Mari passed by. Nao gave her some pamphlets and asked her to pass them to the families living in the neighbourhood. Curious, Mari asked Nao why he was doing it and was shocked to learn from Nao that Teruko's death might be caused by the negligence of a doctor. Understanding how Nao felt, Mari agreed and cycled from with some pamphlets.
Just then, Nao saw Shiro and Yuko walking toward him. With a smile on her face, Yuko took some pamphlets from Nao and started distributing them to passerby, followed by Shiro. Both Nao and Yuna were very happy to see Shiro and Yuko, supporting them. Hence, the four of them started beckoning to passerby to provide them with any leads as to how Teruko might have fainted on the street.
Having learnt the entire incident from Mari, Koota arrived shortly after. Nao was touched when Koota told him that he had already instructed his father to help him distribute the pamphlets when he is out delivering clothes. With that, Koota took some pamphlets and started distributing. Everyone around them were all being very helpful. Owners of stores which Teruko had patronised before, came forward and asked Nao for some pamphlets, telling him that they will distribute to their customers.
Just then, a bespectacled woman came up to Nao and asked for one of the pamphlets. Little did Nao know that the woman worked for Shoei Sogo hospital. The woman together with Hitomi, took the pamphlet and showed it to Keizo. Keizo was very displeased to hear from Hitomi that there were rumours insulating that Teruko's death was caused by Shoei Sogo hospital. He took one last glance at the pamphlet before crushing it and throwing it into the dustbin.
