| The Guild of Cormanthyrian Freedom Clan Members: D'Amico Vega (sun elf), Opie (wild elf), and Zebo (aasimar). Creed: To destroy the House Jaelre Drow and unite to search for lost family members Based in: Essembra on the boarder of the forest Cormanthor Clan Symbol: Unknown Brief Clan History: The Guild of Cormanthyrian Freedom (sometimes known as GCF) began as a group of beginning adventurers with a common hatred- the Drow. They have dedicated their lives to destroying these hateful creatures. In addition, they are bound by the loss of family members. Opie has lost his parents, and Zebo and D'Amico have lost their respective sisters. This search for family leads them to perils unknown, and their hatred for drow grows stronger with each passing day. Ashen Compact Clan Members: Reshei (mind flayer, leader) Rendelin (deep gnome), Kervesem (deep gnome), Argo (derro dwarf), Laela (wild elf). Aligned, non-formal members: Guild of Cormanthyrian Freedom and other unknown, aligned members. Creed: Destroy the Drow, Vezera's House Jaelre Drow in specific Based in: Cormanthor Clan Symbol: the secret saying "We die in darkness so that others may live in light". Brief Clan History: Much is unknown about the Ashen Compact, including how long they have been against House Jaelre. They choose the path of silent daggers, stalking and killing the Drow so that the pillaging Drow House will leave Cormanthor be. They do not seem especially interested in anything but these pursuits. All are gloomy and cryptic, each seeming to be holding on to secrets that they do not wish to share. House Jaelre, Vezera's Division Clan Members: Many Drow scouts and spellcasters, a beast named Vezera (leader) Creed: Take over Battledale and Cormanthor so that they may extend their influence throughout the Dalelands as dictators. They are also in search of an unnamed artifact. Based in: Battledale Clan Symbol: Unknown Brief Clan History: A bitter civil war was fought between Drow factions in the Underdark capital city of Menzoberranzan. House Jaelre suffered untold casualties and was forced onto the surface, in the forest of Cormanthor, the kingdom of Battledale, and the country of Faerun. Looking to destroy their drow rivals, House Jaelre has been attacking the Elven Court, Essembra, Cormanthor, and various sites in Battledale constantly in an effort to take over the nation and turn their power back against the Underdark Drow. Vezera's division in particular is closely aligned with the leader of House Jaelre, Jezz the Lame. The Ashen Compact has taken a recent interest in this division because of the artifact Vezera is after. It is known that Jezz the Lame was not informed that Vezera's division is seeking this ancient artifact. Essembran Army Clan Members: About 100 lightly armored soldiers led by Captain Ilmeth Creed: Keep the Drow out of Essembra, and keep the streets of Essembra safe Based in: Essembra Clan Symbol: A cursive E emblazoned on a leather shield Brief Clan History: The Essembran Army was diminutive and utterly ineffectual until Ilmeth took over Essembra as mayor. Essembra had been previously damaged by a Troglodyte raid, and the townspeople were glad to put a man of millitary devotion on the throne in order to prevent later attacks. Right from the start, Ilmeth began encouraging mercantile pursuits iun order to bring in a large profit for Essembra. The trade reform succeeded, and Ilmeth immediately spent a large portion of the proceeds on the millitary and soon had a new castle complete with training grounds, and a hundred talented young men equipped with swords and leather armor. His quick creation of such a legion took the House Jaelre Drow by surprise when the Dark Elves began their attempt to take over Essembra. Luckily, the powerful Dark Elves were defeated before any real harm was done to the city. It is safe to say that if it wasn't for Captain Ilmeth, Essembra and the whole of Battledale would be conquered by House Jaelre. Although the Drow are certainly preparing troops for a future attack, the new Essembran Army still gives a glint of hope to the weak nation of Battledale. |
