14. Elstin's Steelcraft
Elstin came to Essembra to practice clockwork mechanisms and steel conversion, but his
lust destoryed him. Wanting time with a mermaid, he manned his odd store with mechanical
killers and paid the Industrial Quarter a hefty sum to run 2-foot by 2-foot pipe underground
from the pond all the way to his shop. He then built a manmade lake by his end of the
pipe and magically poisoned the waters, thus turning a buch of Locathah into insane
creatures and evoking the merfolk to swim through his pipe. Not realizing the mermaid's
limited lungs, he brought her out of the water and nearly suffocated her from all the
time she spent in oxygen. The Guild of Cormanthyrian Freedom then broke in, destroying
his machines and sparing his life. His shop lies in disrepair and he resides in the dungeon
below battle court, waiting till Uktar when he may be released.
