| Phased Lighting | ||||||||
| Man, this has got to be one of the coolest things in Zdoom + i love making them =p Anyway, if you have played HeXeN, then you *might* know what I mean. It is, simply, lights that race around, and phase in and out, producing a very cool effect. You can, for instance, make a spotlight go around on a beach, or, make a reactor have spinning lights. But, this is gonna take a lot of work if you inted to make a long corridor with it, but it produces an AWESOME effect. For this example, I am going to use a hallway with lights going down the middle. Here is how you set it up: |

| Ok, now, if you want the ligthing to move TOWARDS the player, make the sector nearest him Phased lighting Start (this is in the sector type area, ie blink 1/2 second, health - 2/5%, that type of stuff) Then, make the one next to start, and evey OTHER one Phased lighting 1 (also in that menu). Then, any other sectors that havent been tagged with start or 1, tag 2. You can also flip this, so it moves away from the player, or, make it so that the ligths come togehter at the middle, the possibilities are (nearly) endless! =D Here is an example wad with all the styles that I could think of, plus, some colored phased ligthing, which I will write a tutorial for later ^_^ |
