| Can someone please tell me what happend here? The man that caused anti-amercan sentiment to burst to new highs that no one could have even imaged, has been elected for another term! The quote "War on Terror" is not working what so ever, the people who are doing these attacks on America are getting fuel by the blind rage of Bush and his administration. Yes we have killed many insurgents and terrorists, but these groups are FAR from beaten. In fact I would bet my life that they have more recruits than they have ever had because of all the people that think Americans are a bunch of imperialists trying to take their much needed resources (i.e. oil) for themselves. Iraq no doubt was not a great place, Saddam was a horible dictator who tourtured his own people, but people lived fine as long as they did not question their government, now the country is in total choas with daily bombings and shootings. Some would have us believe that they want us there, but let me ask you something. If I was "helping" you and in the process I killed your mother, took your father away and destroyed your house, would you want me to continue "helping" you? The answer is an obvious no, but than the question comes down to what should America do with the problems in Iraq. The sad truth is I have no clue. We have fucked things up so bad and we cant just out and leave for this would cause more America hatred. If we continue our current destructive path we will surely have a draft and things will only get worse. We went in with a plan to get Saddam, we suceeded but now we are stuck on an isolated island with no help in sight. |
