If you got to this site you are probably aware of the advantages of three wheel transportation. Also the drawbacks.
Small fuel efficient commuter vehicles and even small family vehicles that take advantage of simplicity of design.
Here in the U.S.A. a vehicle that could travel in high occupancy lanes and came equipped with A/C would be very useful indeed. It is nice that very large SUVs can carry many people at the same time as they tow a small yacht. But in practice they have one person commuting to work with a cell phone glued to one ear as they shave or put on their makeup.This of course is necessary because of the long hours they must work to pay for their SUV and related expenses like fuel, insurance, etc. Not to mention the gridlock and pollution, they must pay taxes to clean up.
Three wheelers up to now have had their own troubles. No reverse, poorly designed drive trains that are not even adequate for a go cart, no foul weather protection. The list goes on. In all fairness there are a few nice sporty versions like the trihawk that are pretty well built.
As you can see by my proof of concept vehicles. All the necessary ingredients can go in a three wheeler. We are in the process of designing a clean sheet approach that will make this concept reality, ie better fuel economy, purpose built body, all new construction, etc. Then we will have a vehicle that will truly be useful.
