LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Members of the Jackson family, minus superstar siblings Michael and Janet, said Monday they have signed a contract to record an album for Randy Jackson's label,Modern Records.

Brothers Randy, Jermaine, Marlon, Tito and Jackie are expected to perform on the album. Randy Jackson said Michael Jackson, already signed with Sony, could not join the label but could lend his talents.

``It's going to be all my brothers, but that's a work in progress,'' Randy Jackson said. ``We're having our creative meetings right now. I'm really excited. My brothers are like my idols.''

He said the album was expected to blend pop with rhythm and blues, in the tradition of the hit-making Jackson 5, which produced a series of top singles in the 1970s.

``Music has changed and will continue to change, but we still do our thing,'' he said.

The Jackson 5, which released its first single in 1969 and produced 14 albums, consisted of Marlon, Jackie, Michael, Tito and Jermaine Jackson.

They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. Randy Jackson is president and CEO of Modern Records.
