There may be no surf in Cleveland, but we've still got beaches.  And beaches are always better when they have ice cream stands and letterboxes near by.  You've just got to love clues that mention that there's an ice cream stand close by!  Even though it was after Labor Day, the stand was still open.  Mmmmmm, strawberry and banana ice cream cones…

Finished with the cones, we then found the box in excellent condition, in a great, out-of-the-way hiding spot.  Next order of business was heading to the water so Doodle could do some wading!

We then decided to continue the lakefront beach tour by searching for the Beach Box in Rocky River.  No surprise that on such a nice day it was a busy little park.  We decided it would be a good opportunity to fine-tune our stealth skills, since the hiding place was in plain sight.  Before heading off, we pretended to admire the view (OK, we were admiring the view) as we discussed our game plan.  When we got to the hiding spot, however, no box.  We fear the hiding spot was too out in the open.  We did email the placers so they could confirm the box's status but never heard back.

Take me back!
