Finally recuperated from our Great Michigan Adventure, it was time to find some Ohio boxes again.  We started the day off with good weather searching for Euclid Creek.  We were then off to Geauga county in search of Big Creek Park.

We're starting to believe that it's not just coincidence that the past few times we've gone out letterboxing rain has managed to follow us.  It started to pour as we tried to find the park's entrance (which was a little difficult because the main road leading to the park was closed on both ends for construction!).  After about half an hour of driving back and forth and around the park (in the pouring rain) we finally found a way to get to the entrance.

Based on our first One Hundred Acre Woods experience, we had bought ourselves some good rain jackets, and thank goodness for that bit of foresight.  We donned the jackets and rushed to the picnic pavilion next to the parking lot to eat our picnic lunch first.  By the time we were eating dessert the rain had let up.  Rejuvenated, we began the letterbox search.  Yet another beautiful park with lots of photos taken, and all the frogs!  We passed a pond filled with lily pads.  We'd both seen plenty of lily pads before, but never had either of us actually seen frogs on any of them, and here, after looking closely at the pads, for our viewing were about a dozen frogs lazing around.  We bid the frogs farewell and traveled west to the Punderson Park Letterbox.

What We've Learned While Letterboxing, Item 7:  Cross Country Trails are always, always, always buggy and wet.

Maybe it's just been all the cross country trails that we've encountered while letterboxing, but we're seriously starting to consider buying wading boots to go with our rain jackets.  We did find the box, though, and also figured out a way to get back to Liberty Belle without revisiting the muck we'd just traversed through.

We ended the day by finding the West Woods Letterbox, hidden in yet another charming Geagua County Metropark.  4 for 4, not a bad way to spend a day.

Take me back!
