February Rider of the month:
Barbara Loyas
Barbara didn't start out as a "lesson person" at Greystone, she started out as a lesson persons mom! Her two daughters' Jerry and Melissa Loyas, started riding at Greystone about 12 years ago. Eventually, around five years into her stint with Greystone, she decided to go ahead and start taking lessons herself. Barbara loved it. At the time, Miss had and Jerry each  had a horse, so she had to bide her time until she could send one off to school and get a horse for herself! She eventually did! She started out with Dawson, who was a great first horse, until he became unsound. After Dawson, Abbey Road arrived. Abbey worked out for a little while, then decided that she just didn't want to jump anymore. Now Barbara has the ever popular Scooter, who came to GSS 2 years ago.
Barabara, who previously had a fear of jumping, has made great strides (no pun intended hehe) in overcoming that obstacles. She now jumps lines, small courses, and the like.
Barbara also does a great job running the barn's 4H group, and helping out organizing various barn events, such as the costume contest, and bus trips to equine events.
If you are at Greystone for more than a day, you will with out a doubt  run into Barabara!
