Released circa 2000, this compilation contains everything cut by the Moonglows for the Champagne and Chance labels, and everything cut by the Flamingos for Chance - including three originally unreleased tracks (2 Moonglows and 1 Flamingos).
This package is an early 1950s vocal group harmony "goldmine" - the Champagne and Chance sides by these groups used to grace the "rare record" wall at Times Square Records in the early 1960s, and command "top dollar" in the days before the discovery of Stormy Weather by the Five Sharps. Every collector would figuratively "drool" over these sounds - which were beyond the budget of almost all of us, who had to be content with a copy of the Vee-Jay re-release of Golden Teardrops and, eventually, the Constellation LPs with most of this material.
The sound quality is excellent, original release record numbers are cited, but the package lacks liner notes.
