This 1998 release on the Dipper label, of Salerno, Italy, contains a substantial sampling of the Four Knights' work for the Capitol label.
The group started in North Carolina as the Southland Jubilee Singers and consisted of Gene Alford (lead), John Wallace (2nd tenor & guitar), Oscar Broadway (bass), and Clarence Dixon (baritone). The group had some of the smothest harmonies around, and were more much more "pop" than R&B.
Extensive liner notes written by Rick Whitesell in 1979 accompany this CD.
If you enjoy smooth harmony, this is an worthy acquisution.
