Merchandise

~Jammer

Do you have any Trigun merchandise? If not, do you want some? If you do, do you want more? I'm still gathering a small collection of Trigun items. All the videos dubbed, posters, manga, soundtracks, etc. Anyhoo, to what I want to talk about.

I went to the mall today. WOW! And then I went into..the BOOK store. WHOO! *koff* So I look at the magazines and notice that this months issue of Toyfare is not wrapped in plastic for once. (Toyfare is quite a well-done, humourous figurine magazine.) So I flipped through and found a page discussing future Trigun merchandise to be released in America. Their release date is for sometime in 2002 (I'll have to look at that Toyfare again..or buy it). They include the 2" bust figures, which look quite well done! Yay! Including bust of Vash, Wolfwood, Meryl, Kuroneko, and Goseph Nebraska. I just hope they don't cost that much for being only about two inches.

Then there's the Kubrick figures. Including the wonderful team of Vash the Stampede, Nicholas D. Wolfwood, and Monev the Gale. Why Monev? WHY?! *flails and rants* These figures appear to look somewhat like...Lego people. WTF? Not very complimenting to the characters, but..if they don't end up being too expensive, I might end up yet another victim to cheesy merchandising. HAHA! No self-restraint.

Now if only I knew they were definately going to translate the Trigun manga.

Once I (hopefully) get ahold of that Toyfare issue again, I'll update this...NO! This just in:

Update!

Ok, so I was being silly there. But I did get the Toyfare magazine, thank you Mom for buying it for me. Here's what the article said..

When it comes to Trigun, Diamond rules the planet Gunsmoke
Woo-hoo! If you're an anime fan in the U.S., there's a pretty good chance you like Trigun. This sci-fi western was all the rage at Baltimore's Otakon this August, and Diamond Distribution is responding in kind by bringing over tons of keen Trigun products from overseas. Kaiyodo's miniature Trigun busts each stand a little over 2 inches high and will be available in a boxed set of five through Diamond's vast netweork of comic and specialty shops this winter. If you like a little action with your figure, check out Medicom's KUBRICK series, startting Vash (with extra head), Wolfwood and Monev the Gale (with removable mask). These little block figures are due out March 2002 and will be available only through Diamond's Previews catalog, so let your local store know you want 'em! ~ Zach Oat

Hmm..I know what I'm adding to my Christmas and Birthday list. Hehehe. I hope Toyfare doesn't mind me typing up this little article, they seem like such cool people, and their magazine is really worth buying along with the Wizard comics magazine (which I subscribe to) and they are, this month, going to be releasing the first issue of a quarterly (I think) magazine called Anime Invasion! Yes..that is a must have in my mind.

Gah..Monev Kubrick..ACK! No, Monev, keep that mask ON!!
