Instead of adding on to the other Chat Away pondering, I thought that I'd just make another page for more info. I still love IRC, especially when I get to chat with people on IRC! (Oo..there's a thought.) So this pondering is set for people who might actually like to chat with me. ::Crickets Chirp:: Riiiight. I'm off and on of IRC during the week, and I tend to lurk. I have the name "Jammer" registered, so forget that "Chalupa" stuff. xX Since I'm using my roommate Pax's computer, I can't download any programs like pIRCh or mIRC, so I'm back to using crappy, ol' java IRC. Java is at least convinient. So, can't download pIRCh or mIRC? You might want to try java. Here's some instructions. The page with an IRC java client I use is at www.monkeeschat.com. I used to be a big fan of The Monkees, so yeah..I knew it was there. From there a page will load and on the side bar will be "Join the Chat." That's what you'll click to find the Java client. From there, it either loads or doesn't load, depending on if your computer supports java. If it loads, a big white rectangle will pop up and have a button to push to load the rest of the java chat client. Click it. Up will come a small menu with four boxes. These boxes are: Nickname: Where you type in the name you want to use. (remember to be creative) E-Mail: Which I never type in, but that's me being lazy. Room:The name of the room you want to enter. It will be set to #monkeeschat, but you can change it. I usually chat in #Trigun, #SouthsideBranch or #Buglite (a trivia channel). Password:For your nickname if it is registered and you registered it and know the password. After that there should be a button you click to join the chat and it should take you to whatever Room was typed in. So..yay! Hopefully it works, and if you're lucky, maybe you'll see me online.
