| Luxor Temple was almost entirely built during the 18th Dynasty by Amenhotep III and Ramesses II. It was the centre of political and religious power. Once a year, during the Feast of Opet, the gold statue of Amun was carried along the Avenue of Sphinxes to Karnak Temple. |
