Roll of Thunder is a great book about four children and their parents with the last name of Logan. This family is all African American and the book takes place when there was a lot of segregation and racists. The oldest child�s name is Stacey, second oldest is Cassie, second to youngest is Christopher-John and youngest is Little Man.
A part in this story is when the kids walk to school and the white kids� bus splashes them with a puddle on purpose every day. They always have to go home with wet, muddy clothes. Later they dig a ditch across the road that the bus rives on. When the bus dries over it, its axle breaks and the white kids have to walk.
The book is called Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry because in the end, a house catches on fire and they think it was from thunder.
I would rate this book a 3 out of 5 because it was boring in some pars but exiting when it wasn�t boring.
