If you have cable now-a-days and are a young teen then you have no doubt seen a show called total request live on MTV. As a young teenager I too would watch this high class television programming. I would watch the show everyday from 4-5 pm Mon-Fri. However, I wasn't the only one who followed the show so closely. Now that I have grown to be an old fogey, I've realized that all teens watched this show. I sat back one day and pondered why so many teens would watch the same show. After a long pondering session i came up with two answers to this mystery. The first was that MTV wanted to have one show that had better ratings than any other show on MTV, and since we all know that MTV never actaully plays music anymore, the answer was easy...create a show that ACTUALLY HAS MUSIC VIDEOS. So by playing videos they were able to get all teenagers with cable to watch TRL. Well, after thinking about this a little more i decided that this probably wasnt the reason since TRL really doesnt even play that many videos anymore either, so it must be something else. Then my devilish imagination kicked in and i thought of an answer that was at first crazy, but when looking into it, became more and more convincing. I figured that Carson Daly, the original host of TRL, was actually a teenage brainwasher and MTV no longer wanted to play videos and so to keep up their ratings they gave Carson Daly a show to brainwash the children as MTV got rid of music videos. Their plan worked perfectly, MTV was able to eliminate almost all of their showings of music videos and Carson's show TRL became a cult classic. Teenagers around the world became brainwashed by this show and would watch with the intensity of a pack of rabid monkeys in a cage with a banana being waved in front of their faces that they cant get. Then disaster struck MTV....Carson wanted a raise. To remedy this problem they got rid of Carson, but the problem was that he had become such a powerful brainwasher that without Carson the MTV execs became afraid that the show would die. So they decided to fill his shoes with someone else, but no one person could do the job as well as Carson...so instead they brought in 34 white people, and 2 black people to be a "diversified" hosting staff. Now daily the armada of hosts take the stage and continue to mold the minds of the youth of today. I hope you all enjoy your high quality television programming, have a nice day. |
